报告题目：The effect of excess electrons on photocatalytic activity of reduced TiO2

报告内容：Titanium dioxide (TiO2), as a typical visible-light photocatalyst, attracts great attentions from both the theory and experiment. The defect TiO2 is the vital topic of the semiconductor materials both because of the fundamental important of excess electrons and the widely applications. In this talk, we will summary the most recent progress on the understanding of the aspect and its applications of excess electrons in the reduced TiO2. We will firstly discuss the origin of the excess electrons and why the excess electrons behave different behaviors on the rutile and anatase TiO2 from the different aspects. At the end, the effect of the excess electrons on the photoactivity, such as the interaction between the excess electrons and the adsorbate in both vacuum and liquid, will be discussed [1-3].
报告人简介：北京航空航天大学大学物理学院研究员。2006年获中国科学院金属研究所工学博士学位，导师叶恒强院士。先后在英国贝尔法斯特女王大学、德国马普协会弗里茨哈伯研究所、英国伦敦大学学院和美国普林斯顿大学化学系工作。2012年入选第二届“青年千人计划”和基金委“优秀青年”基金资助。刘利民博士的主要研究内容是材料界面中存在的物理化学问题，尤其是excess electron对光催化性能的影响。目前在国际期刊发表论文120多篇，其中在Nature子刊发表论文7篇。在Surf. Sci. Reports等期刊被邀请撰写专题综述文章。现为Scientific Reports和Progress in Nature Science: Materials International 期刊国际编委，中国材料协会计算材料学分会副秘书长，国际电化学协会委员。
